Former Morro Bay City Manager, Dave Cole, has officially gone Hollywood, as he has stepped up his long-time interest in show business, to land a supporting role in an upcoming Indie movie, “Capone,” by director and producer, Giovanni Tartaglia.

Cole stars as Big Al Capone’s (played by Louis Fasanaro) right-hand man, Johnny Torrio, a ruthless mobster who helped Capone corner the bootlegging markets in 1920s-30s Chicago.

The film, which has yet to start formal production, is planned to be shot at the Golden Oak Ranch Studio back lots in Santa Clarita, Calif. That studio has a variety of sets including business districts, suburban neighborhoods and homes. Among the sets for Capone, is an elegant speakeasy of the kind from the Roaring 20s where ordinary folks would rub elbows with the likes of gangsters such as Torrio and Capone.
