Hwy 101 Job Starts Monday

banner_roadWorkAheadCaltrans will turn its attention to Hwy 101 through San Luis Obispo starting Monday, Aug. 24, with overnight lane closures, traffic controls and temporary ramp closures.

The “Pavement Preservation Project” for Hwy 101 will lay down a “Bonded Wearing Course,” a coating designed to extend the life of the road surface.

The project runs from San Luis Bay Drive to Reservoir Canyon Road and will last until sometime next January, depending on the weather.

Overnight closures will be from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays-Thursdays and Thursdays-Fridays 11:55 p.m. to 6 a.m. One lane in each direction will remain open at all times.

Telfer Highway Technologies of McClellan, Calif., is the contractor for the $4.5 million project.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through construction zones.
