Jazzman to Play in Cambria

BN Camb Jazz Shw JoeBaggCambria Center for the Arts is bringing jazz pianist, Joe Bagg, to town for two shows at 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30 at the CCA Gallery, 1350 Main St., Cambria.

Bagg is a Southern California native who started playing music by ear as a young boy on a toy xylophone. He discovered jazz piano in college and earned a master’s degree in music from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
In 1997, Bagg started playing the Hammond Organ and relocated back to Los Angeles, where has had a fruitful career playing with people like Bobby Hutcherson, Madeleine Peyroux, and Charlie McPherson, among others. He plays locally with the George Shearing Quintet tribute band.
