SLO Man Arrested in Three Car Crash

SLO Man Arrested in Three Car CrashA San Luis Obispo man was arrested for suspicion of felony drunk driving after he caused a 3-car pile up at a busy intersection in SLO.
According to SLOPD Sgt. Fred Mickel, officers responded at 11:25 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9 at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and Broad Street for a car crash involving three vehicles.


“The investigation revealed,” Sgt. Mickel said, “that Paul Robin was driving his vehicle eastbound on Foothill when he collided with a vehicle that was stopped for a red light at Broad. The force of the collision caused the vehicle that was stopped at the light to propel forward and strike another vehicle in front of him who was also stopped for the red light. Both of the drivers of the stopped vehicles sustained injuries along with one passenger.”
Police checked everyone for impairment and found all but one to be sober.
“Investigating officers checked all drivers for impairment and found that Paul Robin was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol,” Sgt. Mickel said. “He was subsequently arrest for felony DUI causing a collision with injures.”
All others were treated for their injuries and released.
