photodune-7234346-easter-hunt-xsThe 26th Annual Bay Osos Kiwanis Club’s Easter Egg Hunt is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, April 4 at the South Bay Community Center in Los Osos. The egg hunt is for kids 2-7-years old and is free for everyone. There will be prizes for the Best Costume, and Best Colored Egg, plus a hot dog lunch, bounce house, face painting, balloon animals, a 4-H petting zoo, photos with the Easter Bunny, story time with the library and demos by the Boy Scouts. Grover Man Arrested After Homemade Firework Explodes

NEWS Harris mugshotThe Sheriff’s Department arrested a Grover Beach man for alleged willful cruelty to a child after a homemade firework blew up and injured the man’s son in rural Morro Bay.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, at 10:15 a.m. March 22, they got a report of a 13-year-old boy that was injured “by the discharge of powder or a flare on Canet Road, rural Morro Bay,” reads the news release. Continue reading Grover Man Arrested After Homemade Firework Explodes

Sheriff’s Investigate Sex Crime

The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a reported “sexual assault” in rural San Luis Obispo.

According to a news release, the department got a report of a sexual assault about 1:25 p.m. Thursday, March 19. From a “mandatory reporter,” that occurred in the 1400 block of O’Connor Way. Detectives and forensic specialists responded to “process the crime scene,” the release said.

The department has not indicated what type of sexual assault this is suspected of being. The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about the case, to call 781-4550 or Crime Stoppers at 549-STOP.

AG Man Arrested for Morro Bay Burglaries

CRUCE,ROBERT MICHAEL IIIMorro Bay police have charged an Arroyo Grande man in two recent Downtown burglaries — one of which was a locksmith’s shop.

At about 9:15 p.m. Monday, March 16, MBPD said Arroyo Grande police arrested their suspect in the burglaries — at Village Dry Cleaners on Feb.2 and Pacific Locksmiths on Jan. 15. Both businesses are in the Morro Bay Boulevard corridor about a block away from each other.

MBPD had gotten an arrest warrant for Robert Michael Cruce, 37 of Arroyo Grande and AGPD picked him up on the 16th — a charge of resisting arrest was added to the warrant, presumably by AGPD.
