June 17 and 18 saw thousands of Cal Poly students become Cal Poly Alum in front of their parents, friends and family in one of the University’s largest graduating classes to date.
Organizers were also prepared for heat stroke, with audiences packing Alex G. Spanos Stadium in the middle of heat wave. Black and green ceremonial gowns came off as soon as the walk down the ramp from the podium and a handshake with Cal Poly President Jeff Armstrong was over. Gary Erickson founder Clif Bar gave a keynote address on Saturday with College of Science and Mathematics Dean Phil Bailey giving his farewell remarks Sunday. In all there were some 4,500 graduates.
