Bank Vandals Sought

San Luis Obispo Police are looking for the person or persons responsible for a string of vandalism acts at 11 different banks Downtown and damage done to the Apple Store.
According to police, at about 3 a.m. June 9 police started getting reports of broken windows at several businesses, mostly in the Downtown area but also out Broad Street.
The windows had been shattered with metal, ball bearing-like projectiles, most likely shot with a slingshot or similar tool.
Banks that were vandalized were US Bank, Founders Community Bank, Bank of America and Union Bank, as well as the Apple Store on Higuera; Heritage Oaks Bank on Morro; Chase Bank on Chorro; SESLOC, Union Bank and Rabobank on Broad; and the former Heritage Oaks branch on Santa Rosa. Police said many of the windows are very expensive, including the Apple Store’s window valued at some $20,000, so the destructive spree could amount to several felony counts.
The Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the hooligans responsible. If anyone has information on these crimes they are encouraged to contact the San Luis Obispo Police Department at (805) 781-7317.
