Roem BauSeason 7 The Voice contestant Roem Baur will play in concert at Tap It Brewing Co., 675 Clarion Court, SLO on June 6 at 6 p.m. Baur has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and abroad, including England, Africa, South America and South East Asia with acclaimed appearances at SXSW for Chevy, VEVO, re/code, Refinery29 and more. His live shows have been lauded by celebrities and legends alike, including P!nk, MC Hammer, Chris Isaak, Walt Mossberg (The Wall Street Journal), Pat Benatar, and Adam Duritz (Counting Crows).Grand Prize Winner of Bob Weir’s national “The Road To TRI” contest, Baur has been recognized repeatedly for his passionate songwriting and unique musicality, a blend of soul, blues, and early rock n’ roll. The Arroyo Grande Village Summer Concert Series kicks off with country favorite Monte Mills and the Lucky Horseshoe Band on Sunday, June 7. Join your friends at 1 p.m. at the Rotary Bandstand in the Village of Arroyo Grande for this free show. A fun raffle, food, drinks and free tours of historical buildings in Heritage Square Park are also always available.  A new feature this year will be “Art at the Concert” which will feature local artisans and their creations.  Monte Mills, one of the last of the yodeling cowboys, has become an icon of the California Central Coast. A farrier and auctioneer by trade; he’s the real deal.  But he’s more than just a singing cowboy.  He’sMonte Mill Band with Amaya - LR part of life around these parts.  He’s been instrumental in keeping traditional western swing country music alive introducing it to thousands of Cal Poly students and Central Coast residents each year.  Monte and The Lucky Horseshoe Band perform weekly at fairs, dances, private parties and more.  He has performed for luminaries, politicians and entertainers including Kenny Rogers, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Monte Montana, President Reagan and others.


The next Noontime Brown Bag Concert at San Luis Obispo Presbyterian Church welcomes performers from the Arroyo Grande Village Summer Concert Series, as Curtis Reinhardt tells what to expect from this years outdoor gazebo events. Suzanne DuffyGuitarist James Edwards and flutist Suzanne Duffy perform works ranging from 19th Century Paris to 20th Century Buenos Aires in a “Chamber Music at the Fellowship” show, set for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31. The program will also feature pieces by Central Coast composers. Cost is $20 a person and $5 for students and under-12 free. The Get Down BoysThe next Red Barn Community Concert Series will feature, The Get Down Boys, set for 6 p.m. Saturday, June 6. Cost is $15 at the door and there’s a potluck supper and potluck band starting at 5. Bring a dish to share, place settings and BYOB. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Based in L.A., The Get Down Boys play high-energy, traditional and original bluegrass music, along with modern favorites infused with the sounds of Americana. Known for their carefully crafted songs, floor-shaking rhythms, and unmistakable harmonies, The GDBs bring passion to their spin on American roots music. Inner FacesCoalesce Bookstore Chapel will present Inner Faces live and in concert at 7 p.m. Friday, June 5. Tickets are $15 a person and available at Coalesce, 845 Main St., Morro Bay. Call 772-2880 to reserve tickets. Inner Faces is Mandolinist, Tom Walters, guitarist Bruce Corelitz and bassist Ken Hustad and draws on influences from jazz, rock, classical, and bluegrass. Inner Faces has been performing a unique brand of string music on the Central Coast for over 20 years. The trio has recorded two original CDs entitled, “Beneath the Surface” and “Best Laid Plans.”


Claiborne & Churchill Winery (www.claibornechurchill.com) has kicked off its free summer “Sips & Songs Concert Series” held twice a month from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Fridays now through Oct. 2. EDDIE IZZARDComedian, Eddie Izzard, will bring his “Force Majeure World Tour” to the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10. One of the most acclaimed comedians of his generation, Izzard’s unique, tangential, absurd, and surreal jokes are lauded for their creativity and wit. Untitled-1Take It SLO, one of Cal Poly’s a cappella ensembles, will present its spring concert at 1 and 7 p.m. Sunday, May 31, in Room 218 of the Davidson Music Center (Building 45) at Cal Poly. Admission is $7 at the door for the public and $5 for students. The concerts are sponsored by the Cal Poly Music Department and College of Liberal Arts. The 16-member student ensemble will sing a variety of popular songs arranged by the students and alumni of the group. Members are students from a variety of majors. The Cal Poly Symphony will perform its season finale at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 6 at the Performing Arts Center at Cal Poly. Local Celtic music picker Stuart Mason will embark on a CD release tour from May 29-31, with shows slated in SLO, Harmony and Jolon. Playing with Mason will be Carmel’s John Weed on fiddle, and Chico’s Ryan Davidson on bass fiddle, playing material from Mason’s second solo release, “Tradition.” The trio will play at 7 p.m. Friday, May 29 at a house concert in SLO.
