Morro Bay held its 2015 National Night Out celebration Aug. 4 in City Park. The event featured several public safety displays like the Harbor Patrol’s PWCs, which the kids were climbing all over, and the police department’s traffic radar trailer set up to clock people pitching a baseball. There was a hot dog barbecue, raffles for scooters, plus free bicycle helmets and 
footballs for the kids. Sponsors were the City public safety departments, SLO Target, and Morro Bay Neighborhood Watch. National Night Out is always the first Tuesday in August and preparations for next year are already afoot. Interested in volunteering? See: https://mbneighbors.com.
