Titans Finish Strong

Before the end of the school year the Nipomo FFA held the 13th annual Spring Banquet. The Spring Banquet is a night of festivities where the chapter’s members and supporters are rewarded for all of their hard work.
The night started off with a welcome from Trevor Autry, the 2014-2015 Nipomo FFA President. The Outstanding Service Awards were given to leaders in our community who go above and beyond to help the FFA. Academic Achievement was celebrated for those individuals who ranked at the top of their class, five freshman tied; Amanda Stevenson, Julia Boersma, Tucker Banta, Mackenzie Bland, and Leanna Jackson, three sophomores; Brenna Tippit, Katelyn MacLean, and Clara Johnson-Smith, two juniors; Victoria Garcia and Alexandra Simmons, and one senior, Alyson MacLean. Eight of our all-star members earned FFA letters for their varsity performance and hard work. Our three most involved freshman; Amanda Stevenson, Julia Boersma and Kyler Vernon were presented with the Star Greenhand award, and Erica Bowles and Katelyn MacLean given the Star Chapter Farmer award. Twenty-two of our members were congratulated on the achievement of earning the State Degree, and ten alumni members were recognized for earning the highest honor the FFA Organization can bestow upon its members. Our four FFA advisors; Mrs. Cummings, Mrs. Lemons, Ms. Woodman, Mr. Rodrigues, and our student teacher Ms. Lima acknowledged the hard work the 14 different public speaking and judging team Career Development Events.
Finally the results of our chapter’s elections were announced and 2015-2016 officer team: Conner Vernon, President, Erica Bowles, Vice-President, Katelyn MacLean, Secretary, Brenna Tippitt, Treasurer, Victoria Garcia, Reporter, Kyler Vernon, Sentinel, and Adrianna Lemons, Historian, were duly installed.
