• Sept. 28: Someone called at 6:05 a.m. to report a semi truck was idling behind the 99 Cent Store in the 1300 block of Madonna. The caller said the truck wasn’t supposed to be back there, and by God, it wasn’t when police arrived.
• Sept. 28: Someone called 9-1-1 at 4:39 a.m. to report a white truck was parked blocking a fire hydrant in the 500 block of Hathway.
• Sept. 28: A man called police at 3:51 a.m. from the 3300 block of Bullock and said he’d lost his iPhone at a concert earlier, but used “Find My iPhone” to trace it to the Mori Apartments. No word on whether Sherlock got his phone back.
• Sept. 28: The beleaguered clerk at the Chevron on Marsh called at 1 a.m. because some apparently irritating woman was yelling at him and would not leave the store.
• Sept. 28: Someone at Mustang Village and zoo reported people on the roof of a building at 1 a.m. Police turned it over to the security guards, no doubt call back when they fall.
• Sept. 28: A burglar alarm sounded at 12:20 a.m. at Costco. It malfunctioned; maybe they can get a new one at Home Depot.
• Sept. 27: A woman called at 11:53 p.m. from the 2400 block of Boulevard Del Campo and said she hears someone creeping about on the side of her house. The sneak snuck off before they could sneak up on him.
• Sept. 27: At 11:16 p.m. someone reported an unresponsive woman possibly suffering alcohol poisoning at Mustang Village. Paramedics cared for her. Then a citizen called at 11:30 p.m. and said there was an unresponsive woman passed out on the lawn outside the Graduate. At 11:08, a woman called to say her daughter was drunk and abusing meds and more importantly, refusing to leave her home in the 2400 block of Meadow. And at 10:58 a sloshed gal was causing a ruckus at Higuera and Nipomo. The 21-year-old rookie slept it off in county lockup.
• Sept. 27: A man called at 9:48 p.m. from Buchon and Chorro and told police that he can’t find his car, and that he hasn’t seen it for a week, a case of perhaps you just shouldn’t drive.
• Sept. 27: Police were asked at 8:30 p.m. to check the welfare of someone yelling, “Get the Cops!” in the area of Morro and Marsh. According to logs, a 70-year-old apparent battleaxe was arrested on suspicion of battery. At virtually the same time, someone reported an angry Bust-a-fooligan screaming obscenities and punching a street sign at Broad and Santa Barbara. And at 7:45 some guy started yelling at his date inside Blast 825 Taproom, just an average night in Happytown USA.
• Sept. 27: Someone called at 6 p.m. to complain about four transient men hanging out on a bench in the 700 block of Marsh outside Coast Hills FCU, their mere presence a perceived nuisance.
• Sept. 28: Police were called at 5:41 p.m. to Sierra Vista Hospital after a patient brought in via ambulance ran out of the ER with an IV still stuck in his arm. Police couldn’t find the runaway.
• Sept. 27: Police got a call at 5:25 p.m. from the 2900 block of McMillan who said an employee did not return from lunch and is not responding to calls or texts. No report in this potential case of “Take this job and shove it…”
• Sept. 27: At 4:26 pm. dispatch noted getting a third 9-1-1 call from the same man reporting suspicious activity at the Amtrak Station.
• Sept. 27: Police responded at 12:54 p.m. to Sandy’s Liquor after some woman stole a bottle of wine. In an unrelated call, at 12:37 someone reported a woman was passed out outside Crossroads Liquors on Broad.
• Sept. 27: Police were called at 11:17 a.m. to the 200 block of Tank Farm Rd., for a traffic hazard. John Boys towing was hooking up a 38-foot diesel truck that had broken down.
• Sept. 27: At 11:12 a.m. police responded to CCS in the 800 block of Marsh where they caught an alleged shoplifter. Logs indicated the dude was cooperative but wisely keeping his mouth shut.
• Sept. 27: At 9 a.m. a woman called police from Target to say that she was being followed by a gray 2000-2003 BMW 3, as a classy car apparently doesn’t translate to the driver.
• Sept. 27: Police opened an investigation into a non-forced sexual assault/statutory rape case somewhere in town.
• Sept. 27: A citizen in the 1100 block of Montalban called at 8:23 a.m. to report some transient man asleep on a couch in his courtyard, a case of if you leave it, they will come. At 7:45 a.m. someone reported a hobo sleeping next to a boxcar in the 1800 block of Santa Barbara.
• Sept. 27: A woman called at 7:36 a.m. from the 1200 block of Coral who said someone was inside her house while she was sleeping and left the back gate and the slider door ajar.
