Rotary Donates to SLO Symphony

The Rotary Club of Los Osos recently donated $1,000 to the San Luis Obispo Symphony “In support of all they do for the Community of Los Osos particularly the youth programs,” the club said in a news release.

The SLO Symphony invests a little over $13,000 in Los Osos every year and the Symphony’s Strings in the Schools Program is at Baywood and Monarch Grove Elementary Schools. The SIS Program brings music education to third-sixth graders who otherwise couldn’t afford music lessons.

The SLO Youth Symphony currently has 17 young musicians from Los Osos among its members and most of them started in the SIS and Cadet Programs.

Also, 10 current members of the SLO Symphony live in Los Osos and the group annually puts on a chamber concert here.
