The County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a pickpocket that robbed a man in Templeton while his back was turned.
According to Sheriff’s spokesman, Tony Cipolla, at about 9:07 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8 a man was in the 300 block of Main St., Templeton, bending over reaching into the front seat of his vehicle for some undisclosed item, while parked in a parking lot.
From behind, someone shoved the victim into his car and snatched his wallet out of his back pocket, fleeing on foot with the wallet and an undisclosed amount of money. No weapons were seen during what is considered a strong-arm robbery, however, the victim did suffer a small cut on his arm.
“Deputies, along with a CHP helicopter and a State Parks K-9 began searching the area for the suspect,” Cipolla said. “At this time the suspect has not been located. The suspect is described as a white male adult, approximately 5-feet 10-inches to 6-feet tall and wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt.”
If anyone has information on this incident, they are asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (805) 781-4550.
