Stockton Man Arrested for Kidnapping

NEWS Att Kidnaper MUGThe SLO County Sheriff’s Department arrested a Stockton man after he allegedly tried to kidnap a San Miguel woman allegedly with the intent to rape her.

According to Sheriff’s Spokesman, Tony Cipolla, at about 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, an 18-year-old woman was walking along 13th Street in San Miguel towards the RTA bus stop when a strange man approached her.

“She was approached by a man who tried to lure her back to his motel room,” Cipolla said. “When she refused, the man grabbed the woman with both arms, picked her up and began to carry her toward a nearby alley.”

Fighting her attacker meant the difference for the young woman, who was not identified. “The victim says she began kicking her feet, at which point the suspect put her down and the woman ran away. The victim called her mother who then called 9-1-1.”

Responding deputies went to the motel and located their suspect, who was arrested without incident. Tony Laow Her, 26 of Stockton, Calif., was booked into County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping and kidnapping with the intent to commit rape, Cipolla said.
