Most of us make our resolutions or goals at the first of each year, only to realize in late summer that the year has gotten away from us. Where does the time go, we ask each other with looks of genuine bewilderment.
If this sounds familiar to you and one of your goals was to buy or sell some real estate in 2015, I have some good news for you. It is not too late!
With the arrival of August, a lot of people decide it best to to defer their real estate plans until the following year. Unfortunately, they also postpone the simple act of creating a strategy.
Whether you decide to wait to make a real estate move or not, it is never too late to create a strategy. In fact, right now is the best time to begin and it doesn’t even take much time. Here are some winning steps to create your strategy.
Get clear on what you would like to accomplish like moving into a larger home, selling a property, downsizing, etc. At this point, it doesn’t really matter if you think it feasible. You are just clarifying what you would like to see happen.
Keep it simple. Even the largest real estate transactions can be broken down into one or two simple goals. I find people procrastinate because they begin to over-think the process.
Get help with your plan. Its easy and its free so take advantage of it! Ask a trusted real estate professional to help you create a plan tailored to what you would like to do. There should be no cost for this service. If you do not have someone you feel comfortable with, call my office and we will help you create your winning strategy at no cost.
Now relax. You have taken the first few steps toward realizing your goal. You may even find that there is still plenty of time left in 2015 to make it happen.
