Woman Murdered in Oceano

A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his wife to death in Oceano on Aug. 16.
At about 12:30 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of domestic violence on the 2100 block of Warner Street.
When Deputies arrived, they discovered the victim, 26-year-old Patricia Jacobo, dead from what appeared to be knife wounds.
Also discovered in the residence was the victim’s husband, 27-year-old Humberto Jacobo Chavez who was suffering from what deputies believed to be self-inflicted knife wounds.
A news release stated, “At this time, investigators believe Jacobo Chavez killed his wife and then tried to take his own life.”
Chavez was transported by ambulance to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.
The Sheriff’s Office received numerous inquiries regarding the immigration status of Chavez. Information indicated that he is a legal resident of the U.S. with no prior contact with the Sheriff’s Office.
As of press time, the investigation is ongoing. No other suspects are outstanding.
