Public Meeting on Transit Plan

SLO Transit, the service that runs busses throughout the City, is asking for public input on the update of its Short Range Transit Plan.

The plan is to see them through the Fiscal Years 2017-2021, as apparently short term is in the eye of the beholder. The Plan is the official planning document the agency will refer to for the next 5-7 years.

There’s a public meeting from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 5 at the City/County Library Community Room, 995 Palm St.

SLO Transit says the plan, “provides direction in planning system growth and responding to needed changes, per the evaluation of existing and projected demographic, socioeconomic, land use and operating conditions by an independent third-party consultant.”

SLO Transit Manager, Gamaliel Anguiano, will present the plan and proposed changes to the system and take public comments.

A draft copy is available online at: slotransit.org, and hard copies are available at the Library.

Public comments can be emailed to: [email protected]. Comments will be accepted through Friday, May 6.
