The Rock Turning 1

973rockbanner3top1Listener-supported community radio station 97.3 The Rock in Morro Bay is turning 1-years old and planning a big celebration with live music, food and of course all broadcasted live on the air starting at noon Sunday, March 29 in the station parking lot at Harbor Street and Piney Way.
The Rock is non-commercial and completely run by 56 volunteers, and depends entirely on donations to stay on the air. Mark Tognazzini of Dockside will cook up almond smoked chicken and ribs and supporters can get a half chicken for $10 or a rack of ribs for $20 starting about 1 p.m. Call (805) 242-6112 or email to: to order ahead for pick up the 29th.
Live music starting at noon includes Craig Nuttycomb, Rachael M. Kauffman, Lenny Blue and Crippled Pink.
“We’ve proven that Estero Bay greatly benefits from community radio,” says Founder and President Hal Abrams, “but without the generous support of the community, it ceases to exist. This birthday barbecue is a great way to make sure 97.3 The Rock stays on-air through 2015.” Treat the family to great entertainment followed by a special dinner and support community radio 97.3 The Rock.
