Science Camp for Girls is Back

CN Comm science campThe Science for Girls camp will be held August 3-7 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., for ages 8-12, at 229 Stanley Avenue in Arroyo Grande.
This is the second year following a very successful first year. The girls are mentored by a different person in a field of science each day including: Technology with iFixit, materials engineering with Cal Poly’s VISTA program, chemistry, biology by Central Coast Salmon Enhancement, aeronautics with the Cal Poly Professor of Propulsion, Industrial Engineering and special support provided by the STEAM Trunk Initiative.
The camp is fueled by STEAM, (science, technology, engineering, art, and math), involves hands-on projects, mentors who can relate to girls and experts in these fields of study. The cost is $75 for the entire week, with a scholarship offered.
