Sheriff’s Seek Masked Bandit

The County Sheriff is looking for a man who stuck up a San Miguel gas station wearing all black clothing with a bandit’s scarf covering his face.

On Nov. 6 at 6 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies got a report of an armed robbery at the Chevron gas station, 998 K St., in San Miguel.

“Witnesses say a man entered the station, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money,” said Sheriff’s Spokesman Tony Cipolla. “The man made off with an undisclosed amount of money and ran out of the store. No one was hurt in the incident.”

The robber is described as a white male, 25-30-years old, 6-foot tall and 180-200 pounds. He was dressed all in black — a hoodie, pants, gloves, ball cap and a black bandana over his face. The bandana had either white stars or white X’s on it, said Cipolla.

The rudimentary disguise was effective, as surveillance photos while remarkably clear for such images, show simply a big, scary man all in black.

The photos also show an unidentified man and woman in the store during the hold up, whom Cipolla said were being sought as “witnesses.” Detectives are asking those individuals to call the Sheriff’s Office at 781-4550.
