Court Ruling Moot in SLO County

With the ink barely dry on a June 26 decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that struck down all state bans on gay marriage, Governors and Attorneys General of several states have vowed to continue the fight against the practice.
But in San Luis Obispo County, the Court’s landmark, 5-4 split decision doesn’t matter, that’s because the County Clerk-Recorder has been issuing same-sex marriage licenses for more than two years.
