The History of Troesh Coleman Pacific

Family-Owned on the Central Coast Since 1984 ~

Screen Shot 2016-05-05 at 1.41.57 PMTroesh Coleman Pacific goes back to 1984, when Steve and Rene Troesh moved up to the Santa Maria Valley, and started their own company “Troesh Ready Mix” — a Ready-Mix Concrete supply company. The community embraced Troesh Ready Mix & the business experienced rapid growth.

By 1995, after opening two locations and employing over 100 people, the Troesh Family looked for ways to expand the business. After doing some research, they recognized the need for a regulated location to dump concrete and asphalt. In 2001, they started the corporation, Troesh Recycling, Inc., and setup a portable, recycling plant and began crushing concrete and asphalt for recycling.

Meanwhile, Steve and Rene’s son Doug was busy on other projects. In 2005, he opened Troesh Supply, Co., just a stone’s throw away from Troesh Recycling. Doug’s mission was to carry the finest landscaping products on the Central Coast for professionals and do-it-yourselfers.

Masonry, hardscaping products, landscaping materials, tools, aggregates and cement products were all made available at one convenient location in a variety of colors, styles, shapes and sizes. Concrete pavers, mortar-less retaining walls, flagstones and boulders, manufactured stone veneering, top soil and compost, decorative concrete products, masonry block, general construction products, pre-cast fountains and statuaries, decorative rock and bark, outdoor living elements, and grass could all be found at Troesh Supply, Co. Delivery services were also offered throughout Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties.

In 2012, Steve and Rene decided it was time to retire, so on Dec. 31, 2012 they sold the business to their youngest daughter, Debralee and son-in-law Elijah Coleman. Debralee has worked in the family business since 2003 after graduation from the University of South Carolina.

She started from the ground up with the company, first filing paperwork then accounts payable, moving on to sales and human resources learning every aspect of the company. In 2008, she became president of Troesh Recycling, Inc (dba RoXsand) overseeing all departments in the company.

In June 2010, the Coleman’s welcomed their first child, and while Debralee was on maturity leave, Elijah volunteered to help out at the company. While he was learning about the business, he did extensive research about recycling concrete and asphalt and learned about all the various products you could make from the material.

Over the past several years, Troesh Supply, Co., and Troesh Recycling have been working so closely together that it made sense to have all operations under one roof. In 2015, Troesh Coleman Pacific was established, and is a collaborative effort of Debralee and Elijah Coleman, and Doug Troesh.

The Coleman’s are keeping the company a family owned and operated business, with two employees who have been with the Troesh Family for over 25 years and several others who have been over 10 years with the company. Troesh Coleman Pacific is a small, women owned business, and they look forward to helping you make your outdoor living spaces the oasis of your dreams!
