Police Blotter Update

Police announced the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a suspected assault with a deadly weapon incident, which was reported in the Tolosa Press’ March 10 Police Blotter.

To recap, the call came in at 1 p.m. Feb. 15 from the 800 block of Main St., of a young man who was “beaten, stabbed, gouged and cut with a pair of pruning shears” by two white male adults. One alleged assailant, 26, was arrested at the scene but the other had gotten away.

MBPD Cmdr. Bryan Millard said the second transient, 29, was picked up five days later and charge with ADW.

“The victim and suspects,” Millard said, “were known to each other and the crime evolved out of a verbal dispute.”

The victim suffered minor injuries from the attack. “I know the press log doesn’t read that way,” Millard explained, “but all of the wounds were small and non-life threatening.”
