Suspected Drug Dealer Busted in Grover

A man with an allegedly violent past who was believed to be distributing drugs within the county was arrested in Grover Beach on Dec. 1.

Members of the Sheriff’s Gang Task Force conducted a high-risk CN Mug shot McMasterfelony traffic stop at 4:50 p.m. on a motorcyclist at Highway One and Grand Avenue in Grover Beach. Members of the task force had reason to believe 42-year-old Jason Robert McMaster of San Luis Obispo was distributing narcotics in the county.

The Sheriff’s Office conducted the stop based on McMaster’s violent criminal history that includes fighting with law enforcement and making criminal threats. As a result of the incident, a small section of Highway One was blocked to traffic for approximately 10 minutes.

McMaster was arrested without incident. Reportedly he was found to be in possession of approximately one ounce of methamphetamine and was booked into County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale and a felon in possession of body armor.

McMaster is known to be an associate/member of a local criminal street gang. While on parole, McMaster was arrested in 2011 in San Luis Obispo after several reports came in of a man acting odd at Santa Rosa Park. When confronted by police, he reportedly charged the officers and threatened to kill them.
