Forum on Public Safety, April 20

The League of Women Voters will sponsor a public safety forum addressing the question of how safe are our local schools, government offices, and other public places, set for 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 20 at the Board of Supervisors’ Chambers in the County Government Center 1055 Monterey St., in SLO.

The free forum, “Safe in San Luis Obispo: Strategies for a Changing World,” is open to the public and will feature speakers: County Sheriff Ian Parkinson, SLOPD Chief Deanna Cantrell, FBI Special Supervisory Agent Brian Sullivan and SLO County Superintendent of Schools Jim Brescia.

The forum will address, “What are the greatest dangers to our safety and well-being in SLO County?” “What should we do when there are lock-downs at schools or bomb threats on city buses?” And, “What can we expect from local law enforcement?”
