The SLO Color Blast Fun Run was well…a blast, starting at 9 a.m. April 23 at SLO High for a non-competitive 5k run/walk.

Spectators and runners alike look forward to the twist thrown on this 5k that audience members shower runners with a rainbow of –biodegradable and nontoxic – cornstarch dust.

The Alex Maier Memorial Fund & Scholarship receives the proceeds from the fun run, in honor of San Luis Obispo High School soccer player, Alex Maier (#23), who was killed in a tragic car accident in 2013.

The $35 registration fee takes care of event costs, including a logoed T-shirt to wear during the event and the rest supports SLO High students headed to college.
